5 simple ways to make a relationship work

Ah Valentine's Day is fast approaching! Mahaba na naman ang pila sa motmot. Charaught!

Anyhooooo, I have been a passive receiver of all news about relationships. Bakit kamo passive? Jusmio! Sa HR kaya lahat ng mga hanash ng mga tao narinig ko na, lahat ng cause ng AWOL at non performance narinig ko na and here is the tea, there are times where in personal relations come into play bakit sila naging ganun. Oh guys, I am not perfect, minsan din naman ako naging baliw baliwan. (Haraught!!)

My thoughts are based on experiences shared to me, hinde perfect ang Tito nyo okay? So read on and hope you enjoy my post....

1. Cleanliness is next to happiness.

Have you seen Tidying Up with Mari Kondo where all the homes are just inundated with stuff? Please don't be like them! Guys let's face it. No one wants to go home to a cluttered home. When you are tired from whatever life throws you, your home should be your nirvana. Remember: Keeping the house tidy is a two way street, if you don't like to clean, do your part in keeping the house clean.

2. Be budget savvy.

In today's economy, the ability to budget effectively is a make or break for any couple. You guys are both responsible for this. Look for ways to augment your cash flow, a side hustle or adjust the grocery items, it is up to you. I have met some couples who have struggled with their savings because of their spending habits. So be sure to have a healthy check and balance of your budget.

3. Always be there to listen. Give emotional and logical support.

People who are tired and weary want to be listened to. Partnerships will work if both parties pay attention to each other and take action. For people who just can't find time to listen to their partners because "they are busy and would rather rest", this is simply not true! Please please please if you want things to work, FIND time to hear them out.

4. Take care of yourself.

I am a firm believer of the saying, you can't pour from an empty cup. Replenish your cup so you always have something to give. Take mental breaks with friends and family, try joining a recreation group and get to know other people, expand your network and views in life. If your beau can't give you time all to yourself, oh dear now that's a problem!

5. Communicate well.

This perhaps is the best advice I have heard, communicate in a respectful manner. Your ability to say what's on your mind and why it matters is important. Also, how you react to situations is also a form of communication, so when you are criticized, listen and process, learn to manage your emotions and actions. Communications leading to altercations is a big no no.
