Gift yourself: A stress free future!

Updated: Jan 22, 2024

Hello titos and titas! Half of the month of November is done, can you believe it?! And there is still a lot to do at work, a lot of practicing to do for the Christmas party, and add to that your personal holiday errands and get-togethers, albeit tiring, it spells new happy memories before 2023 ends! And then a new year starts over again, new memories, both good and bad, will soon happen, and 2023 will just be part of everyone's living memory, and then before you know it another year has passed by.

Pampanga food trip going to La Union. I can't believe this picture was taken only this July 2023! Time flies!

Life is increasingly becoming faster, what appears to have happened a year ago, actually transpired a few weeks back. With access to information, the social media, excessive working hours, our brains are bombarded with new memories everyday, more than what we should be dealing with on a daily basis. This results to us losing track of time, and then one day you will wake up and realize, how much time do I have left to live?

This is exactly what happened to me in 2022, I realized that I am not getting any younger, prioritizing future savings and health care is very important, and I needed to start planning ASAP! We get so busy with everything around us that we tend to forget that the life we live now is fleeting. Our jobs, our health, our youth, life itself, they are all temporary, one thing that remains constant though is the need for income all the way to the very end of your life.

That's why I gifted myself an additional life insurance policy to cover my future needs.

What should you look for in an life insurance policy? Your life insurance policy should be able to mitigate the when the following happens:

What if I go to heaven too early? Your policy should be able to provide for your family's need upon your untimely demise. An effective financial plan involves putting into consideration how much money your family needs to keep them afloat when you are out of the picture already.

What if I get sick? Your policy should be able to cover not only the medical expenses involved but the potential loss of income while you are recovering from your illness. If you think it only takes a year for a family to financially recover from the losses brought about by critical illness, well guess again, it takes years! So don't let your savings dribble away, protect it!

What if I live too long? Being healthy all throughout is a blessing! But have you planned how your retirement years will look like? Where are you going to get your income now that you are retired? Is your pension enough to cover your monthly expenses? How about for emergencies? How much savings have you allocated? Your policy should be able to provide you with retirement funding, investment-linked life insurances are a good way of saving up for the future.

Getting a life insurance may not be in everyone's list, but just like real estate, it increases over time. The price of a policy increases as you get older, and if you are getting an investment-linked policy, you won't be able to take advantage of the current good value investment options for you. Some people get a policy when they are older not realising that they could get declined due to health reasons, and not realising that their protection coverage will be limited already, if you delay yours, you will always get the short end of the stick. Getting protected, saving up really begins NOW!

To you my dear reader, a life insurance policy may look like letter filled with legal speak, a piece of paper, but when the time comes, it becomes a modern miracle. It becomes medicine for the sick, debt is suddenly paid, it puts food in your family's table even if you are gone, it becomes a legacy, it becomes life for your family.

So this Christmas, do yourself a favor, don't stress your future you, act now.

Love,

Tito Gary xxx
